Artist's Comments

This is dedicated to couple of good friends that helped me get through some personal shit with their great advice (its a long story I'm not gonna get into here). After talking to them I went to sleep and had a dream, I tried to model it the best I could in this piece.

This is interesting and creative. The idea of rendering dreams you've had is a great one. I always forget but the stuff I dream about is the most weird shit. And yet sometimes I'm struggling for ideas. All I need to do is write down any one of my dreams. Thanks for the image and glad you're feeling better!

My analysis:

What I like

a) Emotive, the images make you feel. From the heats of the crumbling dry ground to the primal fear of eyes looking at you.
b) The mist coming out of the smaller frame. Very atmospheric and well done.
c) The sun and the burst effect. oftentimes the lens flare can look cliche in photography or if you've used photoshop to achieve it. Here it is very powerful in context and gives the image a strong sense of depth.

Suggested improvements: (bare in mind these are improvments towards aesthetic tastiness. I realise this was your actual dream and you might prefer to keep everything in)

a) I'd remove the hands and the texture they are touching. It's a weaker part of the whole and it dosen't give the main frame enough space to breath between itself and the absolute border of your work.
b) Alongside the inside frame threre are some specs and lines. I hope you know what I mean. I don't think they add to the image. This is because they look very jaggied. done differently they could work but they just dont' look quite right.
c) The Main eye against the blue sky. Move it right 50 pixels or so. I want it in the top right corner, out of the sun, equal distance from the right border as it is the top border.
d) I want you to redo the 'don't worry' text at the bottom. And I want it to say 'don't worry' only once, without the faded version behind. I would recommend having the text slightly smaller in a font such as futura. I want the gap between the white border and the absolute border to be equal on both the top and bottom sides of the text.

Hope these suggestions help. I enjoyed this piece overall :)
